You are all smart to start thinking about the holidays this far ahead.  Start putting little things away now and by Christmas I hope you have enough.

I hope some of my pages will give you some ideas.

I almost forgot one of the best places. If you have kids that are in the age group I would have them join the Boys and Girls club in your area,, they are one of the largest groups that receive toys from toys for tots and the kids get to do a lot of things also www.bgca.org/

Cheeries, I found some site in your area to check out and call for more information. I will tell you something, you have to start now with the economy the way it is they will close the list quick if to many call so be proactive on this.

I understood you completely but it never hurts for a neighbor or the family itself to suggest some families or a family

Keep up the great work

in response to Starshine...   You are so correct, it never hurts to ask I am just saying that last year I wrote a letter to the Marine unit that covers my area and they never responded, I called toys for tots main number and they told me that its usually through a community organization to which I ask ok what is the organization :) and they told me I would have to call the local charities. But I agree maybe I just came across someone that was non-responsive where other may be very active. Good luck.

Thank you for the information

I put up a page for free coloring printable holiday items etc.

storm747 I have seen the fire department and sherriff's if they know about a needy family deliver toys and food to families on tv.

So it would not hurt to go and tell them your story and ask?

in response to Starshine...   Your correct, the fire department and Shariffs do collect toys for the Christmas season BUT they give them to organizations like Toys for Tots and such. Now food pantries will call and apply at toys for tots who will deliever the amount requested and then the food pantry will hand them out to the families..I went through it last year..I was blessed with help so I know how they work you as an individual can not call toys for tots and get. BUT you can call Salvation army, I know for California ou call the first week of October and they will give you an appointment for the end of october top bring in documents and then in November/December you pickup at the location in Pomona..I am going to be making a blogg on how to get help and where in a minute or two...

Call your local Salvation Army, they start taking names the first week of October for appointments but they are limited this year so call now and get the day that they will be taking names. I also know that if your kids are school age let the principal of your school know the situation as they get request from different organizations on families that need help and they will submit your name. I would also check the food banks and see if they will be giving help this Christmas I know a lot of them do. Good luck and GOD bless
